Here It Comes!

Just thought I would update you all with a quick blog post to say that I will be taking this week off in preparation for the upcoming NBA season to start (for a Blazer fan, anyway) next Wednesday the 30th.

I am excited to see how the guys play in their last preseason game tonight against the Golden State Warriors. It will be a tough matchup, but I am excited to see how Damian Lillard defends Stephen Curry and how Lillard plays as he is returning home for the first time this season. Blazer fans were hoping to see all of the starting five play in one game together, but that will not be the case as Wesley Matthews did not travel with the team due to an irregular heartbeat. He will be all right, but it is unfortunate as you would like to have one preseason game where your entire starting five play together.  This year, however, I do not think it will be the death of the Blazers if for some reason one of our starting five had to sit a game. We have enough backup now off the bench that we can plug any holes if necessary. Overall, I have liked the Blazers’ preseason. They started slow, but then quickly won four in a row.  I love seeing them winning on the road and getting a streak going for a change. Now can the season start already!?

Also, for any MLB fans out there, I have been watching the World Series and the Red Sox are not kidding around. Jumping on Wainwright in the bottom of the 1st with a bases-clearing double from Mike Napoli, it really set the tone for the whole game going forward and to an eventual 8-1 Red Sox victory. I personally think that the Red Sox will win in 6 games, but I do not think the Cardinals are done. They are too good of a team to let this throw them off of their game and with the rookie Michael Wacha on the mound tonight, who has been absolutely stellar this postseason. I think the Cardinals have a good chance to steal a game in Fenway.

Anyway folks, I will be back on October 30th to start doing write-ups for every Blazer game this season, win or loss. I am excited to see how this season turns out for them and I will do my best to keep up with all the madness that is the NBA season. Stay tuned!
